is one of the best ways to share content in the Web. Unlike written content, videos offer a more complete genre ofcommunication. The video blogger can be seen and heard by the target audience. Internet pundits sometimes use the term ‘ Vlogging’ for video blogging.
There are several types of video blogging, depending on the blogger’s purpose. Video blogs aim to inform, instruct, or simple just to entertain. Although video blogs is unassuming form communication, nevertheless it is a powerful medium to solicit human emotions and sentiments.
Different groups use video blogging to support advocacies, promote brands and services, guide users on how to use a certain products, teach via online classroom, or simply make other people laugh.
There are certain ‘rules’ and guidelines that you need to follow in order to be a successful ‘vlogger’. Yes, any Tom, Dick, and Harry can operate a video, post themselves on their site or in YouTube. But it takes careful preparation, some talent, some skill and a lot of common sense in order to become a successful vlogger.
Prepare your content
Before you start you video blog, ask yourself: ”What is my message? What is my content? What do I want to say?” You can prepare your content by developing it on your own or by using the clip of another person. Is your message substantial or relevant enough to attract followers?
Talk to an audience
Who are you talking to? Which marketing are you targeting? This is important because the kind of audience dictates which kind of tone, style, and approach you will adapt. Talk like a teen to teens and converse like geek to geeks. To the educators, speak like an academician. Got the drift?
Know your equipment
To video blog, all you need is computer, video cam, and video recorder. Familiarize yourself with these stuff. Where will you post your blog? Do you know what software or online tools to use to maximize and manage your video blog?
Be sensitive and socially aware
Be careful of what you post in your video blog. Avoid racism and prejudice to social groups or religions. You may ignite some unrest and even put your safety at risk. Verify your information or date.
Do not plagiarize
This is important. Make sure that you share only original content. Or, if ever you would use the content others, you must attribute your source and reference.
Respect copyright
Before you post or include a copyrighted content in your video blog, make sure that you have the permission of the author or producer of the material. Copyright infringement could give you a lot headaches and put you in trouble.
Have fun with video blogging. Take advantage of social media to share content that can other people wonder, laugh, and learn. Go to popular video blogging sites and assess what makes a good or a bad vlog. Learn from the strengths and weakness of other vloggers.
