I’m currently in South Florida enjoying the sunshine and ocean views that Fort Lauderdale has become renowned for. I’m attending an annual franchise conference that is being held at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa, located directly on the sandy shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

I don’t often talk about my “day job” on this blog because it doesn’t have anything to do with travel, but a few times a year I hit the road to attend franchise conferences and trade shows that are hosted at various locations around the United States. If you find yourself curious about what I do when we’re not globe trotting, you can visit my company’s website here. I’m on the franchise development team of a brand that is revolutionizing the house painting industry, but I won’t bore you with the details.

Because I’m visiting Fort Lauderdale on business, I don’t have any plans to get out and explore. My days will be spent attending meetings and participating in a franchise expo, so I won’t have much time to leave the resort and give you the lowdown on Fort Lauderdale. But that’s just fine with me because the resort is very nice – here are some photos.

It’s too bad that Nicole and Baby B were not able to join me on this trip. It’s the perfect destination for family travel, and lounging by the pool just isn’t the same without them.

But, duty calls… so I’ll do my best without them!
